What We Do Matters!
No sacrifice is too great. No price is too heavy. No struggle too difficult. In order to receive temple blessings. Temples are worth every sacrifice and every effort. - President Thomas S Monson.
Molweni Fam and Friends!
I hope that all of you are well and healthy.
This has probably been one of the most eventful weeks of my mission. It also went by pretty fast. But I hope you enjoy this wonderful book!
A few weeks ago, Zwide opened their car door and the wind took it and blew it open. It bent the hinge pretty good so the door wouldn't close correctly. So the car had to go in for repair. They took it in at the beginning of this week. Leaving an area that you can't bike in, without a car. So that's where the fun begins, Walmer. An area that is pretty darn safe, where President stays when we have Zone Conference. The area where all of us Elders come into when we first get in PE. Walmer Elders hopped on bikes for the week. Well, a day or two into the week the Walmer Elders were robbed and they will be joining the Zwide Elders to stay safe in the car.
At this point they don't want to have four Elders in the lesson. So Elder Roberts came to Motherwell in hopes to help us with the area, as well as to resolve this four man Elders issue.
Okay, now everything is going good. But then yes, our car wants to go in for service as well. However, ours is just a general service. So that shouldn't take too long right??? They told us it wouldn't take the entire day.... Well guess what! When we got there they told us that some workers didn't show up to work so the car was going to be with them for most of the day..
Well at this point we can't really just sit in the dealership for the entire day. So we have the Zwide and Walmer Elders come and pick us up. Mind you, this is a five seater car... We have six Elders at this point. So, we all head over the chapel to figure out what we are going to do for the next few hours. Our solution: Have the Zwide / Walmer Elders drive us to our area (Motherwell), then drop us at our lesson. Then they go to their lesson. Then come back and move us to our next lesson. They then go back to have their lesson. I think you get the point. Back and forth.. Until finally we got the news that our car was finished. Oh, what a blessing it is to have a car!!! I won't take that blessing for granted. (I'll probably be sent to a walking or biking area next)
This week we also hit our SIX MONTHS on mission! I can't believe I've been out for that long. And, I am with Elder Hingano who was in my MTC District! That's crazy!
And then the Transfer board dropped! Guess what! I am finally leaving Motherwell! It's only been six months since I've been here. 🤣🤣 Not going to lie though I will miss it. It's a bitter sweet moment.
Monday we had our combined P-Day and we had an amazing Braai. Dang, I am loving these Braai’s more and more. We will have to do a Braai when I get home!
Almost forgot to add in another crazy thing that happened this week! We were able to be a part of a power girls graduation ceremony. 😂 It's really good that I have been able to be a part of a lot of different events back at home or this thing would have weirded me out a little bit. Honestly speaking though, I have a lot of respect and appreciation for this organization. It’s an organization that helps girls from a young age to 16 that haven't been treated well at home find who they are and build their self confidence up! So, we were asked by a member to share a spiritual thought with everyone. Elder Hingano was a beast and shared a powerful thought and testimony with us. (Also don't worry, there was another male present. It wasn't just us Elders...)
Well, I don't want to write too much, but I will share another quote that ties into the beginning of the email.
Elder Bednar stressed that Church members need not spend inordinate amounts of time creating and sharing elaborate messages nor become social media experts or fanatics. “Too much time can be wasted, too many relationships can be harmed or destroyed, and precious patterns of righteousness can be disrupted when technology is used improperly. We should not allow even good applications of social media to overrule the better and best uses of our time, energy, and resources.”
Remember why we are here on earth. It's not to get rich. It's not to become the best at everything. It's simply to choose our Savior and follow Him. The things we do now matter more than ever. We represent our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. We are HIS disciples.
I know that He LIVES and cares for each one of us!
Don't forget who you are!
