Transfer!
Transfer!
Well it has been a crazy week! Super busy! We had transfers and I was super excited... I got transferred to Montgomery, Ohio. It's been super sweet so far! We have like 8 fishing ponds here in our complex so, of course, we checked those out the moment we rolled in.
We got doubled into this place so it's been a little hard to find people to teach. We basically had to restart the area book, other than the members, so we are trying all that we can.
I was able to go downtown Cincinnati this week - I was super pumped about that, there were pigeons everywhere! Haha
We've had some pretty cool opportunities to share the gospel this week even though we are still quarantined.
First, when we first pulled into our new apartment complex we parked in front of our apartment and I saw a pond so we went to go check it out. We started walking around a bit and we saw a guy trying to catch this goose-ling, so we ran over and asked him what he was trying to do. He said it had been split off from its mother. So, I kind of cornered it and grabbed it real fast and we reunited the family. It was really cool to do something as simple as that and make him and his friend super happy. We are super tight with them now and had a good discussion about the gospel and life. They also said we can go barbecue anytime at their house, so that's sick. We also have tennis courts here and they said they would play us. It was pretty awesome to make friends before we even unpacked our bags! lol
Second, Robinson and I are both outdoorsy so we decided to go pawn shop hopping to see what we could find. We wrote a list down such as: tennis balls, rackets, golf clubs, baseball bat and other fun outdoor stuff.
We went into this one pawn shop and met a really friendly owner, who we were able to share the gospel with and become friends with. He even let us leave with a free thing of tennis balls. It's just been cool to be able to make friends and share the gospel even during quarantine... haha
And yes, I did some fishing in our ponds too
Also Elder Robinson has his bucket list with him and he was reading it to me. "Catch a squirrel" was on there. So, I told him we could do that easy, haha so we made a homemade trap with a clear tote and a plastic spoon to prop it up. We then put some peanut butter under the box and waited only a few minutes and sure enough got a squirrel, we named it Sheela. We then brought it inside and decided we wanted to pet it. In the process of grabbing it, it bit me and got loose in the apartment We were able to finally get it back outside after chasing it for a while, and yes I'm fine, thanks for asking
It has been a very fun week and I hope y'all are having fun and staying safe in this time of uncertainty, I miss and love you all!
