Wow!!! this week was pretty crazy! we were on exchanges pretty much all week! Tuesday morning we had interviews with the mission president. That was super fun, I love President and his wife! literally the sweetest people ever. That was far enough away. by the time we had interviews, we got steak and shake which was super good haha, they have really good milkshakes. by the time we got home it was time to head out on our bikes to go to our dinner appointment. It was like just over an hour bike ride. pretty fun tho haha. the hills are fun to bike on. Wednesday was crazy! we had district council in the morning and then we split off for exchanges afterwards. so I was with elder Jarvis. We did our comp study and planned what we wanted to do for the day. We decided that we were gonna work super hard to find some new people. we had plans to go to 4 different towns and to do this we decided we would skip dinner so we would have like 9 hours to walk around and talk to people haha. That was kinda our plan. so we set out our first town, we were in my area haha so we went to seman first and the first people we talked to were sitting on there poarch. they were super nice and gave us candy and water, which is super unusual haha anyways we got talking and one of them, Julie had met with missionaries in the past and the other one Debbie had no idea about us or anything. They are some of the nicest people we have talked to since ive been here. they told us a lot about the area and other stuff to,. pretty soon we realized we had been there on there porch with them for like 3 hours haha. so we told them we had to go and we were able to set up a time to come back the following Wednesday. Crazy! every time we go on exchanges we get blessed with super nice people to talk to. and those were the only two people we talked to in Seman that day because we decided to go to our next town and didnt see anyone else. The next town we went to was a little town called lawshe. There is a total of like 15 houses there haha i think the population is 30 people on a good day. anyways there was a guy doing yard work and he was super friendly to talk to but then soon told us to go away haha he loved to talk about all the arrowheads that he finds. we went to his neighbor down the road a bit and knocked on his door. this guy, soon found out his name was john wanted nothing to do with us. he told us to beat it. haha but as he was closing the door all i had noticed he had on a camo hat lol so i had to ask him if he was a hunter of course lol I asked that as he was closing the door. As soon as he heard those words he opened up. it was so weird, I dont know why that changed him so much =. He got super excited and ran inside and brought me his new crossbow. soon after that we were out back in his shed/ his man cave as he called it lol and then inside his house showing each other hunting pics lol he even gave us brownies and water haha it was crazy! we talked a little about what we believed and he said we could come back next week. Absolutely crazy haha he didnt want us to leave. He kept saying he wants to go hunting and that he gonna call me this fall so we could go together haha. i told him i cant really hunt on my mission but he kept sayin i need to go with him haha anyways i thought it was cool that we were able to find someone that was about to slam a door on us and them become like best friends by the end of it. since then i have learned to make more meaningful contacts. finding things people love. and then they usually start asking questions about you. we have been finding a lot more people that acctually wanna talk to us by doing this!!! its also a lot of fun! i think elder jarvis was bored outta his mind when i was talking about hunting tho, it was pretty hilarious. So we headed to our next town, peebles, yes it gets better lol. we walked around for hours and founds lots of people to talk to by applying this method. we were about to go to our last town for the day when this guy across the street came out of subway. he looked at us walked a little bit, turned around and looked at us again, I knew something was up. we waited to cross the busy street and we ran up to talk to him. he was super nice and said he was pretty new to the area. he asked if we wanted a drink, we said sure and he invited us to go into subway with him to get a couple of waters. we walked inside and he said now I know yall are hungry so get yourself some food, its on me. We were shocked. we literally skipped dinner to be in this town longer, how in the world did he know we were hungry lol. looks like i should skip dinner more often. No one buys us stuff here and then this random guy thats not even a member buys us food haha. Turns out one of his best buddies growing up was Mormon as he told us. we got to know him really well and it was super fun. he asked lots of questions and we were able to teach quite a bit. somehow the time flew and it was 915 and we are suppose to be in our apartment at 9 and we had like a 40 ish minute drive haha. anyways exchanges are flippin sweet!!!!!i spent Thursday with elder hacking my companion and then Friday and Saturday i was on exchanges with ELDER MALAN haha he is a legend in the making the funniest guy on the planet. we got a lot of new people those next few days and it was super fun. Winchester the town i am in right now was actually having a parade. And there was actually people in Winchester to talk to!!! super fun! gotta walk the town like 6 times and met lots of new people. as we were walking around some car drove by and yelled LAWRENCE elder malan asked who dat? i said i have no clue lol we actually saw the same car later that day and they pulled up next to us, it was Debbie and Julie! the two people we met on Wednesday on exchanges! They were super excited to talk and made sure i am still good to come over Wednesday and talk with them! haha I am super excited to go talk to them in a few days!! it just felt good cuz i am starting to make nonmember friends haha its really fun, and feels good! we got soooo many new people this week and i am super pumped to do some teaching! anyways hope yall are doing fantastic! dont forget to make a new friend this week! I love you all!! --- Elder Lawrence
