Port Alfred and Makhanda, South Africa
Hey, guess what!! It's another week, can you believe it? It felt like yesterday that I was writing one of these. But I am excited to be writing one of these letters again!
So, for the quick update this week, We are two hours away from any other missionaries. Even further than I originally thought... So that's fun. Once again, I am serving in Port Alfred and Makhanda! Makhanda which is becoming my favorite area so far! This town is basically a huge public College, like BYU-I. There are many fun things that you can do around town. We have some fun members that are always excited to see and help us out with missionary work! The crazy part is that I haven't even been to The Makhanda Branch yet. This week for church we went to Port Alfred, which is where I was able to meet some of our fellow friends from the US! Can you guess where they are from? Yep, you guessed right. From Utah! 😂 There are two couples, so four people. But one of them married at South African so there are three US Utah members!
Other than that, there has been a lot of new things and I am excited to learn the area! Looking forward to continuing to serve here! Many more memories to come!
Mosiah 2:22
22 And behold, all that he requires of you is to keep his commandments; and he has promised you that if ye would keep his commandments ye should prosper in the land; and he never doth vary from that which he hath said; therefore, if ye do keep his commandments he doth bless you and prosper you.

You know there are so many things each day that we can get caught up on. So, when the stresses of life come crashing in remember this scripture. "All that he requires of you is to keep his Commandments." Our Savior loves us so much and wants us to return home. He doesn't want us to struggle, but that is the only way that we learn. So he allows it. He himself struggled, as will we. Don't allow the little things in life to bother us so much. Remember to think Celestial. Do the things that matter most. And Heavenly Father Will bless us. Period.
I love and miss you all. Wishing you all the best in your journeys. Keep me updated!
With Love,
Elder Lawrence
